1. GBWG Annual Meeting Details
Dates: December 5 (12:30-5:30ish) & December 6 (8:00-12:30ish).
Location: Kennesaw State University, Student Center Leadership Room (Room 84).
Parking: Parking is free for our members in the East Desk, Third Floor and above (Parking Map).
Details: We will have a two-day meeting format once again. Based on member feedback following last year’s meeting, we will change the order of events slightly. Day 1 will start after lunch and cover general GBWG business, agency updates, committee meetings and updates, and open discussion. Day 2 will focus on research presentations and posters. We will have an informal social on Thursday evening at Dry County Brewing Company.
Lodging and Meals: KSU is located in a suburban area with many hotel and restaurant options. A light breakfast will be provided on Friday, December 6 (Day 2), as well as coffee and light snacks throughout the meeting. All other meals are on your own.
2. Call for Presentations and Posters
We’re looking for presenters to give agency updates, research presentations, and poster presentations! If you would like to feature your work with a presentation or poster, please email Laci Pattavina at Laci.Pattavina@dnr.ga.gov with details.
3. Call for officer nominations.
We are now asking for nominations for the following offices. These are members who will direct and support the goals of the GBWG for the 2020/2021 term. The deadline for all nominations is midnight November 1st, 2019.
- Chair/President (current: Laci Pattavina)
- Secretary (current: Emily Ferrall)
- Treasurer (current: Maggie Aduddell Hunt)
- Board members (up to 4 positions; current: Nikki Castleberry, Chris Cornelison, Trina Morris, Pete Pattavina)
If you have someone you would like to nominate for a position, or if you would like to volunteer yourself please follow the instructions below. Although the current officer’s term is up, they can and are welcome to volunteer again. - Email full name, address, affiliation, contact number for nominees to georgiabatworkinggroup@gmail.com with subject line “Board Nomination”
- State for what office they are nominated for
- All nominees will be asked to send an acceptance email that includes a one paragraph bio or reasons why they would be beneficial to the GBWG. This will help the members to choose their representatives.
- Deadline for all nominations is midnight November 1st. Elections will follow shortly thereafter, with results presented at the annual meeting.
